# Yuki Nakamura Yuki opened Nakamura Flowers on Capitol Hill in 1982 and ran it for forty years with the same unhurried exactness she brought to every arrangement. She could look at a bucket of stems and see the wedding, the grief, the birthday, the apology they were meant to become. Regulars became family. Her shop became a neighborhood fixture. She retired in 2022 but kept a small garden that her daughter says was more beautiful than anything she ever sold.
