"Trust math, not institutions."

Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin and author of the 2008 whitepaper 'Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.' By solving the double-spending problem without a trusted third party, Satoshi introduced the world to a decentralized monetary system secured by proof-of-work and cryptographic consensus. Satoshi mined the genesis block on January 3, 2009, embedding the message 'Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks' — a quiet declaration of purpose. Over the next two years, Satoshi developed the protocol, engaged with early contributors, and then gradually withdrew from public life. The last known communication was in April 2011. Whether one person or many, alive or dead, Satoshi's identity remains unknown. What matters is what was left behind: an open protocol that separated money from the state, running continuously since block zero.
