Patricia Ann Kowalczyk

Patricia Ann Kowalczyk raised three children in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, and quietly became indispensable to everyone around her. For twenty years she organized the food pantry at her parish, drove neighbors to medical appointments without being asked, and showed up with a casserole before anyone thought to call. Her kitchen table seated twelve in a pinch and often did. She grew tomatoes, kept meticulous recipe cards in a wooden box, and believed that feeding someone was the most direct expression of love available to a person.
