Napoleon Bonaparte
1769-08-15✦1821-05-05
"He remade the map of a continent with strategy and iron will."
Napoleon Bonaparte rose from Corsican obscurity to reshape Europe with a combination of military genius, administrative vision, and bottomless ambition. His Napoleonic Code reformed legal systems across the continent and its influence persists today. At his height he commanded an empire stretching from Spain to Poland. Ultimately undone by the Russian winter and British naval supremacy, he died in exile on Saint Helena — a man of towering achievement and equally towering cost to the millions caught in his campaigns.
