Frank Deluca
1941-03-15✦2024-11-08
"Sixty years of student faces, every one remembered."
Frank Deluca spent thirty-eight years teaching American history at a public high school in central New Jersey, retiring in 2003 and then returning for nearly a decade as a part-time substitute. His students remembered him for staying late, for keeping old yearbooks on a shelf behind his desk, and for the way he could make the Civil War feel urgent on a Tuesday afternoon. He coached junior varsity baseball for twenty years, rarely winning but never losing the players. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years and four grandchildren.
